Bad leadership

Pros

Great healthcare, Great PTO policy

Cons

Company is going in a bad direction, they are laying people off and then rehiring the same amount of people. COO is not qualified, CEO doesn’t come to work anymore. Company practices behaviors that lean very close to retaliatory. They stopped giving raises but pay there VP’s boat loads of money. They used to be a good company, where it was a place you got paid less but you believed in the mission. Now it’s a company where they lay 12 people off just before Christmas, and then continue to cut more positions.

Pros

They are a .net shop building and supporting a very cool piece of software that's well maintained and nice to work in. It's got some awesome features, my fav being the customizable workflow engine. The software team is wicked talented and knowledgeable- with a few true craftsman as lead engineers. They want the best solution and that's it. Fun to work with. Plenty of room to learn, grow and innovate. Open to new technologies. They are constantly moderning up.

Cons

Still figuring out clean agile. They aren't obsessed with velocity and that jazz which is nice but the management members are over reliant on lead dev wizardry and miracle working. Need to understand their back log more and take their equal share of responsibility.

Pros

The staff were a brilliant and interesting cast of characters as you might imagine in the Ithaca area.

Cons

Management has great vision but difficulty translating that into smaller actionable steps. They try to do too many things simultaneously and thus fail on successfully executing on many of them.
