First--you are an event planner. However, when trying to book vendors for your events, the paperwork is so unnecessarily grueling for you and your vendor, they typically give up on you, making it near impossible to run events properly and professionally. And forget ever paying a vendor on time.
Second -- everything you read in previous reviews about the VP is true. She completely will leave you on your own until something is brought to her attention that she views as a major issue (usually a rumor). She will then turn her attention to you and micromanage and criticize every inch of your performance and actually invent issues or blow situations out of proportion. This is way worse if you are the type to defend yourself. She will discipline you vindictively, if this is the case. She is so visibly insecure, that she feel bullying is the only way to maintain control.
Third, the residents at Esplanade are some of the most ungracious people you will ever meet. Granted, this is not the company's fault. However, anyone going into this position should know, you will turn yourself inside out for them, and they will never appreciate it, in fact, they will most likely insult your efforts.
Fourth -- There is no way to promote in this position. It is a dead end. And will likely leave you without a positive reference.
