Pros

Business trips to warm places like Miami and Puerto Rico.

Cons

There is an extremely negative work environment. People fall into three categories at the HQ: looking for a job and very unhappy at work, worked there too long they can't get a job anywhere else, or they are complacent and unmotivated. This fosters a sluggish and negative environment to work in which is extremely depressing. Abusive managers are not held accountable for their actions.

Pros

One saving grace for this bank was during the reorganization, a new Regional Executive in NY came in from outside the bank and was able to turn things around for some of the business groups. More work has to be done but at least it was a step in the right direction when someone with a real business acumen knew what he was doing to lead an organization.

Cons

There are so many downsides to working here. On the surface all is made to seem like things are going well but they really aren't. Individuals who have remained in this organization have become so stagnant in their roles, they don't know what to do to help the bank for the future. There is no innovation here and the constant juggling of political charades wears thin quickly. People will often talk behind other people's back while giving them superficial kindness in person. This derails all motivation in the workforce and sadly no one wants to even admit to it. Antiquated processes and outdated systems, not to mention how often there are technical glitches do not demonstrate how a successful business should be run. The major challenge is this is a small organization that can't grow and has no vision to grow. It's limited by people in PR and by the current players in place in the NY office. The stay the course approach is the norm so that they can stay afloat seems to be what the business strategy is about.
