Pros

Taught me to be more selective in choosing place of employment.

Cons

Cult-like environment created be narcassistic owner and mascot (and cohorts). Belittling of work and aggressive humiliation in front of equally as intimidated colleagues is nothing compared to the micro-management through intimidation and fear that is practiced here. The young-proffesional, colorful culture portrayed by Potratz online does not exist internally. Excessive coming in early and staying late with no monetary compensation, just to keep up with the workload that is unrealistic due to poor project management. Job titles are changed like socks, people promoted and demoted all over the place. Employees of all departments are fired at random for reasons that are strictly political within upper management. Employee turnover is very high at Potratz, as one can't help but realizes that their well-being cannot be supported by a career at such a turbulent company. To top things off, client turnover is rampant and typically fires Potratz within the first year.

The simple fact of life is that not everyone is made out for every job. Advertising is by nature, a very hard industry; it entails long hours and hard work, and that’s really all there is to it. Agencies work under deadlines, and sometimes meeting those deadlines means putting in extra hours. Another example is teachers, who technically get paid to work school hours, but that does not mean when they are done at 3PM, they are done. What it really means is that at night they are up grading papers, creating lesson plans, activities, organizing field trips, etc.; it’s the same for advertising With that being said, we completely understand having a personal life, and we whole-heartedly support that. At POTRATZ, we are pride ourselves on being a resource for our clients. That means we need to know the ins and outs of the automotive industry so that we can provide the absolute best service to our clients. For example, a salesman needs to know the ins and outs of every vehicle on their lot in an effort to be informed for their customer…would you tell that car salesman to quit being in sales and instead start building cars? We didn’t think so, because if it was us, we’d want to be working with the salesman who is going to be able to answer our questions, not respond with “hmm, let me get back to you on that.” Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we wish you the best of luck in the future!

Pros

There are no pros to this company.

Cons

Narcissistic management would be an understatement. New employees are given zero direction and trained by employees who have been with the company for a nominal amount of time (this because there aren't too many employees who last very long). Turnover exceeded 100% during my time there. Company objectives are to saturate the market with digital advertising, focusing on quantity over quality. Neither short or long term objectives are clearly laid out for the team. The owner simply barks orders at people, treating them like animals. He actually screams the names of employees from his office, and expects them to come running to him. He may personally understand digital marketing, however, lacks all forms of leadership skills.
