With classes out of session, work typically slows down in the summer giving you time to job search.
Cons
If you are any combination of intelligent, thoughtful or ambitious, be prepared to be fully taken advantage of. You'll be welcomed with open arms by folks who will then dump their workload onto you. Those who survive at the organization seem to be the least qualified. In my department, there are no protocols, no structure, no communication, no organization. Leadership is grossly unqualified and unwilling to to their jobs. These concerns have been brought to the attention of senior leadership, but they seem to do nothing although they solicit employee feedback.
