Pros

The only reason you would want to work here is for selling 12 hours of your precious time every day to this bunch of self proclaimed "elitists".

Cons

- Terrible work life balance - 12 hours a day minimum - No weekends - you have to work on weekends to sustain the rat race, otherwise RB comes and puts a gun to your head - Deal with a millennial CTO - immaturity at its peak - The company has fired more than 5 people in the last one year - my way or the highway - Not enough cash in the bank - hired excessively in the last 6 months - Product is too buggy - They can rescind your offer and then blame it on you any time

We're building new technology and a challenging product and it requires hard work - isn't that why you join an early stage startup? We have the model needed for the product we want to bring to the market. Our model couples high work throughput with high compensation/technically interesting and challenging work. We have improved our process to make this clear upfront during the hiring process. People have different productivity - some people will produce acceptable work in a few hours, some will take many - there are people who have been working here for years and have rarely worked outside 8 hours, 5 days a week. Since cash in bank was mentioned, I'd like to mention that we have a very transparent culture and our numbers are shared across the company. We grew 6x this year in revenue and are continuing to hire actively. Since (valuation = revenue X multiple), and our revenue is growing more than the reduction in multiple (due to capital becoming more expensive), we'll raise a solid up round for Series B. We're just not in the situation many later stage companies are in, where it is hard to grow into their last valuation, we got lucky that way. We are working hard to make Prophecy the best place. We strive to provide an environment where employees feel they’re valued, treated fairly, and respected.

Pros

They pays you more than most companies/startups in Indian market

Cons

I believe you are looking for growth and meaningful experience, prophecy is definitely not a place to work for. If you are just looking at money, and ready to work then this might be for you CEO doesn't rely on his words, he keeps switching his ideology every month or so 😂 Startup culture has been going out, politics has been started happening in India office

Pros

The pay is better than average. given that the product doesn’t sell and half the customers are churning you get paid a lot to not do much.

Cons

Where do I start? - Customer churn is nearly 100%. If you’re interviewing here, please ask about churn during your interview. I wish I did. The numbers are abysmal, probably 50 percent or more. The try to frame this as though it’s because the product changed directions, but it didn’t… - Bizarre company culture. The CEO town halls on several occasions were the CEO sitting there asking us to ask him questions… why am I on this meeting again wasting my time? - Zero new business. I think there were three new deals sold in the time I was there? - Any request to engineering takes days to get a vague response. Everyone asked about this over and over and they just say “they’re really busy”. And lastly - the product is just bad. The second a customer experiences any friction with it, they will do what they were doing in Databricks instead because Prophecy barely offers any benefit over it. Open source code means they can switch whenever they want. No revenue for usage, so you constantly have to try to get people to use it, and given that it isn’t a great product you’re fighting an uphill battle. Prophecy 4.0 feature functionality is not even discernible from the marketing materials posted… because it doesn’t really do anything.
