      This place isn’t ready for prime time

      Pros

      Interesting work and clients, some very intelligent people doing their best.

      Cons

      I actively witnessed many of the senior management at the firm totally disregard and, in some cases, totally disrespect and mock each other and lower-level staffers behind closed doors. There was absolutely no transparency regarding staff changes, policy shifts, and other important internal matters that require thoughtful communications. Many people in my direct orbit were either visibly or vocally miserable because of the hostile environment created by top-down structures.

The firm offers opportunities to work with well-known brands and on interesting, high-impact issues across industries. Employees are trusted to own their work, with little micromanagement and a strong focus on outcomes. There is also significant opportunity to grow beyond your title, learn new skills, and contribute wherever you can add value.

      Cons

      The environment is best suited for self-motivated people who are comfortable taking initiative. Those who are willing to raise their hand, ask questions, and jump into new work outside of the comfort zone will generally get the most out of the experience.

      - senior heavy firm means direct access to how leadership is thinking through a client problem – leaders are excited to talk through ideas and pressure test against junior employee perspectives - work is high level and deals with many environmental forces shaping day to day life which is interesting to learn about and work on - good mix of long-term and short-term projects keeps things interesting and lets you build - flexible management treats employees with respect

      Cons

      - experiences vary client to client and is very dependent on who is leading the team and how skilled they are at team management - nature of the business and clients can mean whiplash as environmental contexts change quickly - have to be really, really intentional about asking for questions, doing research on your own, and asking for explicit feedback to ensure you are learning the right lessons given the complexity of the work and how quickly leadership is moving
