Pros

Great group of people. Everybody is very friendly. Our clients are, for the most part, very nice as well. Working here you will get to know the clients well and be scheduled to go back out to the clients you get along with the best. 401K plan is pretty great.

Cons

Upper management puts personal feelings into play far too often so there's some awkward days. There isn't much room for growth. Doesn't seem that you can get a raise past what average inflation is no matter your performance within the company.

Merger went bad

Pros

Interesting work and good co-workers. Plenty of variety. Lots of things to learn. Pay was OK and there was a mileage allowance for use of your own vehicle.

Cons

The 2004 merger between PC Solutions and the other PC support company, which formed Quanexus, went horribly wrong. Several people either quit or were fired in the next year. So morale was low. The business was onsite technical support of small businesses. There was little or no documentation of the customer's computer systems. Most customers were too cheap to pay for computer repairs, and would suffer with a problem for weeks until the computer was totally unusable and the customer was up against a deadline. Which meant that the customer was frustrated and mad at the service technician before he even showed up. So you'd parachute into a situation where you were lucky to know the system's passwords, and nothing else, deal with an angry customer, and be expected to fix the problem yesterday while charging zero hours for the repair. Most customer's believed that you were trying to cheat them out of money when you suggested inexpensive ways to prevent problems.
