Pros

good office location Relatively new office Reputable guest speakers at the breakfast seminars

Cons

I was surprised at the level of staff turnover for such a small organisation. Extremely low level of support or any kind of career progression No flexible working arrangements Toxic culture and micro management due to the MD I keep in touch with majority of Recruiters that I worked with at Quay Appointments and feedback is similar all round. I suggest reaching out to Recruiters at Quay, both past and present, for a confidential discussion before considering a role.

Pros

Has a large share of NSW Government roles and CBD office

Cons

There really is no limit to the cons of working at Quay Appointments. Huge staff turnover says it all. From bullying and harassment from Senior Management to poor wages and nil commission. Majority of employees are on sponsorship visas so that they can be held to ransom and threatened with visa cancellation if they do not meet unachievable targets. Employment contracts are locked away after being signed and employees are consistently micro managed by senior management who have trust issues. Winsome Bernard, owner and MD, is renowned in the business for being a big bully and frequently has to hand over employment issues to her lawyer to resolve. Since selling the company, Winsome ensured that her primary moles were given senior roles within Quay as part of the deal. Phillip and Heidi. The former being the new MD, I have never met a poorer Recruitment Manager in my whole Recruitment career. Needless to say, the bog digger from Ireland is Winsome’s eyes and ears whilst she smokes her way through the proceeds of the sale. Whilst working there, it was not uncommon to see colleagues in tears at the hands of management and staff being sacked within an hours notice. Obviously the parent company did not do their due diligence thoroughly as this is a recruitment company that is breathing it’s last breath under Phillip’s leadership. If you are considering working here, I urge you to reconsider. There are many other recruitment companies in Sydney that will treat you with the respect you deserve and reward you accordingly. No career opportunities and definitely no long term roles available. Avoid like the plague!
