Pros

Really nice people. Interesting work.

Cons

Micro-Manage. Family owned so no room for career growth. So tight knit it's dysfunctional. Management are hands off and ask senior employees to spy for them.

Thank you for your feedback! I'd like to think quite a bit has changed since the 7 years this review was written. My experience with managers has been that they are very hands on and involved in the day to day. Not to confuse this with micro-management, obviously the line between coaching and doing can easily be crossed but we work hard to not make this the norm. In response to the company being family owned with no room for career growth - it's tough, we're a 40 person company, growth can be measured in a lot of different ways. Whether that is picking up new skills, new responsibilities and hopefully new opportunities - you can definitely expect this at Quest CE. If you view career growth as a new title or a new job, I've seen that happen many times as well - it just has to make sense for the team and the company.

Pros

-The amazing culture starts from the top and trickles down. The company is family-owned and the executives are arguably the kindest people in the entire company. The CEO will treat you like family and really cares about everyone. Your coworkers are always very nice, trustworthy, well-mannered, and down-to-earth. -Office drama is very minimal. It's a very positive environment with no back-biting or gossip... very refreshing! Everyone gets along very well. -The pay is fair for the work and intensity expected from you. You will always have something to do, but will never dread coming to work. Additionally, there are all kinds of recognition prizes for hard work/ingenuity and goal completion, with Starbucks gift cards being the most common. -More than a handful of their millennial employees have been there over 3-5 years, which, I think, says something! -for the small size of the company, the PTO and benefits are generous. Small businesses are often exempt from providing benefits and these are affordable. Management is also pretty understanding if you have unforeseen situations. -Beautiful new office space with a lot of natural light where the employees are. It includes a gym with new equipment and a kitchen. -Free snacks and soda/seltzer water with several "food days." You will NEVER go hungry and there are some very talented chefs throughout the company ;) -Daily "Fit Club" where you can play ping pong or walk for about 20 min. -REALLY enjoyed working here and only left due to an out-of-state family situation

Cons

PTO calculates by calendar year, and you will start with 2 weeks pro-rated for the year that you start and the following January will start your full 3 weeks. It was difficult starting near the beginning of the year, but management was very flexible when I needed unpaid time off, which worked for me :)

Appreciate the feedback! I enjoy my PTO as much as anyone, we're always looking for ways to improve that policy. I'm glad to see that it worked out ok for you! Being a smaller company with smaller teams sometimes PTO can be challenging but we try our best to work with people to offer work/life balance. Your note to management has been noted!
