Pros

Rabobank is overall a nice place to work as is evident by the number of people that have worked there for many years. I enjoyed my time there and while its not the most dynamic of banks to work for that's not such a bad thing depending on where you are in your career. Its up to date with most of the latest technologies and work methodologies although it does have its own way of implementing some of them.

Cons

The positives are also the cons, because it has many people that have worked there a long time, that could cause career advancement blockages for some people and although the bank likes to think it embraces new concepts some people are a bit stuck in their ways.

Pros

9-5 working hours Good place to retire since there is not much work to do 12% non contributory pension Travel opportunities within Europe and around depending on your job profile (company spends like crazy) Restaurant Food is Cheap (though not the best quality)

Cons

No scope for young, ambitious professionals with new ideas and those who want to grow in an organisation because you will be surrounded by people who've been there for 20 years and probably on the same position The dutch call the shots and you are at their mercy People are highly judgmental especially the Corporate Bank in London and its hard to change their attitude; basically quite inflexible and orthodox way of working If your team member is dutch he/she will surely try to dominate over you and its highly likely that if he's got contacts with the Management; you might be sacked There is no appreciation for good work and only the negatives will be pointed out (specifically in my case); with no opportunity to work on it.

Pros

The atmosphere is very chilled and there are decent benefits in place.

Cons

Difficult to progress into other roles despite the opportunity being available. Annoying when people do less than you but somehow get paid more. Management don't seem to be able to ascertain who the deserving individuals are, and the ones who don't do much...
