Pros

If you find yourself in the right team with a good manager you’ll have a wonderful experience. However some editors are control freaks and micro manage so much you can’t even nip to the loo while working.

Cons

Editorial departments inflexible - especially for parents. Stressful work demand, expected to beset at your desk for full duration of work day with only half hour break. Don’t even think about nipping to the loo because someone will message asking where you are.
