Pros

Good clients only and strong practice groups. Only pros I can list.

Cons

You’re worked to the bone with no appreciation. There is prejudice against people. Absolutely zero diversity but they bang on about it. If you raise a concern it will be overlooked. A member was ‘secretly’ promoted without the rest of the department made aware, but everyone was told that there will be no promotions due to the pandemic. Overall, many better BD departments out there.

Pros

The building is a great perk to the job. Great facilities too. Views were amazing from Broadgate Tower. Great canteen. There was also an amazing retail discount/voucher scheme.

Cons

Unfortunately with the role generally, I think there is a salary and bonus ceiling. We used to get above inflation (not much above!) payrises. Then with performance based bonuses of up to £2k. But then they didn't happen with recent years before leaving despite having an amazing appraisal. Some profit share bonuses which were marginal but still compared to nothing, was something.
