Pros

Lots of independent work. If you like to drive, you might get something out of this job.

Cons

First, this is a service company which is run by a family who prioritizes giving jobs to other family members over customer service. As a non-family employee, expect to jump through other hoops so family-employees can coast. Second, they have a culture of pressuring employees to work off-the-clock in the name of "putting the customer first", and complaints have been filed with the State of Michigan to prove it. Expect to be asked to work unreasonable hours (12 hour shifts separated by 4 hour breaks is not uncommon) . Get everything in writing from this company. They will often promise additional compensation for special projects, then decide they've paid you enough once the project is completed. Also, they ask you to use your own car and cover your own gas out of your paycheck. Have a problem? Don't expect it to get resolved. Reliable Delivery outsources their HR department which means any HR problems are handled by "the family", none of whom has HR training. Bottom-line: work somewhere else.

Pros

The people you work with are great.

Cons

All the managers should be fired. They don't communicate with each other which causes a ton of confusion. 2 VP's even got into a verbal altercation in front of all the employees and had to be separated. The dad who owns the company has taken a step back and let the kids run the company with no direction and that's if they show up to work. The family's joy now is the gun range that the recently purchased and not the delivery company. The pay is terrible and if you are in sales you might not earn a commission even after you were told you will earn % increases based on performance. Employees are walking out the door all the time. Stay away from this place until they are sold or new management comes in!

Reliable Delivery Response

I am sorry that you left feeling this way. I understand not everyone enjoys working for a family run business and the enviornment may not have been in line with your career goals. The "kids" you are referring to I believe are the adult siblings ranging from ages 37-47, with both degreed and non degreed business training, as well as business experience in the industry of over 20 years each. We also pride ourselves on being an organization that is always learning and growing. The things we try to do are with the best interest of the employees in mind. Which includes allowing our employees to grow within the organization rather than bringing in outside managers. We feel this gives our employees a better chance for advancement and career growth. We appreciate all feedback and strive to use it to improve in any way we can. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

Lots of opportunity to work long hours for free. Will be able to work independently.

Cons

Reliable delivery pretends to be Christians while they continually steal from their drivers. They pay you a percentage but never show you a rate sheet or bill of lading to base that percentage off of. They think they are smarter than everyone because they are family members. No logistic skills whatsoever. If you are family you are qualified. They just throw in a figure to base your percentage off of. They do not allow you to use a Hilo. Every skid is to be hand loaded by guess who? The driver. Doesn't matter how much it weighs. All bathrooms are locked so drivers must urinate outside in a bush. They just gave all drivers a 7% paycut because they say they aren't making enough money. Drivers beware of this company. They will run you till your vehicle is broken and you will be forced dispatched for jobs that pay you less than the fuel you are using.
