Pros

Great mission and history Great founder

Cons

They claim to be people driven, and as a nonprofit with a humanitarian focus, you would expect this to be true, but it is not. Almost everyone that leaves is fired on the spot without notice or a PIP. Or if they have a PIP, it was merely a formality. They just let their 5th marketing person go in 2 years, and she was told on the spot and given 30 mins to pack her things and get out. This is the run of the mill. Their HR department does not know what they are doing as they constantly change how goals and performance reviews work, your performance review has no impact on your pay scale, and they don't take any time to check on employees. Instead, they spend their time together as a team laughing, joking, and showing up late. The executive team changes strategic strategy every 6 months, are not held accountable, and live in their own silos. They do not get along well, and when they ask and receive honest feedback from employees, they make a joke out of it by putting on a song and dance (literally). The Global Impact team, who works with the starving families and children, receive little to no support from the rest of the company and instead donor money is wasted on software that isn't utilized, sending the executive team to other countries for "strategic planning" where they just post pictures of the food and drink they are consuming, or wasted on half million dollar annual retreats where they provide no actual content or information but just try to have a kumbaya moment and act like they care.

Malnourished children receive lifesaving meals in school feeding programs while first-world volunteers become educated and inspired to create change.

Cons

It is difficult to stay motivated and maintain a mindset of service to others when your direct supervisor behaves inappropriately in private and threatens your reputation, integrity and your job.
