Pros

Great Co-Workers, Used to be a great atmosphere and enjoyable to work(until new management). Pay is acceptable, but I think all coach operators should be paid more. Around $27-$30 per hour.

Cons

Employees scared to make mistakes(Scared to get terminated or suspended), we try to be perfect, but we all make mistakes at times. Management being petty and suspending drivers for small mistakes or infractions(going 5 mph over speed limit, suspend 5 days, which we rely on to pay bills, rent, and food for children). It used to be a enjoyable work environment until new management came in and made us all expendable, so it is like walking on eggshells which can make the day that much more stressfull when one see's papers to sign in their mailbox. Would like to see management be more understandable and not so cutt throat, and appreciate employees like they used to.

Pros

The pro's for working at Riverside Transit Agency are the pay & benefits. Another pro for working at RTA is that you are able to help people who are dependent on Transit to get around.

Cons

The main downside to working at Riverside Transit Agency is that the management claim to have an open door policy, however once a subordinate goes in to talk to the manager about a problem they are having with the way things are being run they want to terminate their employment due to the "At will Clause" for supervisors who are not apart of the union. Another problem that supervisors faced was that we felt we had to walk on egg shells to not get management mad for fear of termination. Another con for working at Riverside Transit is the fact that they do not promote upper management positions from within, therefore the moral sucks!

Pros

It was close to my house The equipment is newer and well maintained Nice look to the uniforms Other Operators are friendly

Cons

The training staff lacks the experience to provide in depth instruction. Lots of training videos but very little depth to each topic due to the lack of experience in the training dept. New Operators are transitioned in to route training to early before they are comfortable with the bus. Huge turnover due to the lack of development skills with trainers.
