Robot bleeds for the customer

Pros

Great people, friendly environment, good benefits, fair pay. The people really were the selling point for coming to work for Robot. They're wonderful. The office is fun and colorful. Management (I can't speak to all departments of course) is flexible and understanding. The products that they've made in the past have been excellent. Sometimes they can get a little bit too complicated with game design ideas that don't always pan out, but they've made some wonderful titles. Everybody cares about the end product and everyone has input.

Cons

Like the title says, Robot bleeds for the customer. What I mean to say by this, is that they will make decisions that may hurt the company but benefit the end consumer. The gamers/customers generally stay happy, but their bottom line suffers. We all know Robot has gone through good times and bad times, such is life in the gaming industry. Layoffs happened, and a lot of great talent had to go elsewhere. They made a disastrous move by partnering with a local trainwreck of a company for their latest mobile title, causing friction and tension across many departments. With that partnership now over, they should be able to heal from that mistake.

They had a great chance to be something big, but.....

Pros

Great Location and an amazing team of Veteran game developers.

Cons

The company culture was very cliquey and could have been managed better in terms of scope of the games they made. They fall short when it came to getting more projects lined up while wrapping up the last game.
