Pros

Working with a team of very smart people, you get to learn a ton and start digging into your own areas of cybersecurity interest. You are working with some great clients who care about your recommendations and you get to see real progress being made. There are fun events where you get to hang out with co-workers (friends) outside of work, including ski days, camping, or just going to the local axe throwing facility.

Cons

There is quite a bit of work to do, and there is no hand holding. Some would consider this a bad thing, and if you do, you might look elsewhere. I don't consider this a bad thing, but Glassdoor requires a "Con" ;-)

Pros

Excellent benefits and compensation. No corporate nonsense. Tons of opportunity for growth, personally and professionally. Regular feedback, strong sense of reward, and an ability to control your own fate. Nobody is perfect, but I've been at companies with leadership camped at the top who are resistant to change. This is a small, agile, close-knit company that is willing to try new things and isn't afraid to fail, and is mostly succeeding. You're never bored, and you can always try new things. Most important, you're helping people and truly feel like you have a purpose rather than being a cog in a money-making machine. I've never worked on a team where everyone cares so much about each other, and is willing to do so much to help each other. They've taken care of me through some really hard times in my life. They've helped me move, taught me to backcountry ski, gave me a place to stay, given me great advice in tough situations, and just generally been there for me through thick and thin. Without this company family in my life, the pandemic would have been such a lonely, terrible time.

Cons

Recruiting is a top challenge in the industry right now, so Rule4 is struggling to find good people who can fit into the consulting role. It's not for everyone, but for the folks truly passionate about technology and working with people, it's an awesome career and Rule4 is one of the best places to be. For someone who just wants a 9-5 job and is scared of failure or working with clients, this might not be the best place.

Pros

- Team really cares about wellbeing of each other and putting life first when it comes to priorities. - Challenging, high-impact work for clients is incredibly rewarding. You actually get to see results from day-to-day effort. - Outstanding pay & benefits. - Deeply experienced team to learn from and solve problems with.

Cons

- Constant context switching, high-pressure or high-risk situations, and a lot of individual responsibility. Learning what to do with stress and rapidly changing priorities is a challenging experience. Definitely not for everyone! - Requires learning to set realistic expectations internally and with clients, and have hard conversations when you have to say "no" or re-forecast deadlines.
