Pros

Interesting projects and ability to take ownership of own projects

Cons

Old school management team, unwilling to listen to staff concerns and recommendations. Lack of agile/mobile working despite encouraging it across their customer base. Lack of use of new business processes such as hot desking and managers still isolated in offices to separate and distinguish them above their teams.

Thanks for taking the time to post your review on Rydon, we really value your feedback. In response to the points raised we are working to implement a number of improvements to the working environment in our locations, including implementing more flexible working, new technologies as well as creating more collaborative working environments. A number of these actions were brought forward from the recent company-wide employee engagement survey, which we intend to repeat on a regular basis to ensure our management team is fully aware of any areas where we can improve and ensure Rydon remains a great place to work.

Pros

Opportunity to progress in terms of job title and training opportunities are there if you are consistent with presenting a case for it. Flexibility with working hours, again if you present a case. Retailer/gym discounts seem interesting.

Cons

Revealing your skillsets will lead to more senior work once positive results are realised, but there is no acknowledgement. Tribal mentality leading to colleagues turning an eye to heavy bullying in some offices. You have to do as the populars do, speak how they speak, allow popular senior staff to make inappropriate and even racist comments, and not 'show off' by revealing you have logic or reason while solving simple problems to not become a target for harassment. Full scale personal attacks, digging into peoples private lives and characters, like secondary school bullies who need you to pick sides in matters of rank and gossip. In my opinion HR does not seem to have a thorough understanding of how to manage any issues besides wage slips and holiday. They lack integrity when approaching issues objectively and effectively and struggle with comprehension of individual issues, forcing everything to fit into boxes they are comfortable with, ethically the department needs work. If you believe in allowing people to be themselves and aim for the high instead of mediocre, you have to tread very carefully, people will project their personal issues on to you and make life difficult to make themselves feel better about their shortcomings.

Pros

I do not believe there are any.

Cons

The work environment in this office is highly unprofessional, particularly towards foreign engineers and administrators, who often face exclusionary and disrespectful behavior. Communication among staff frequently involves unkind whispers and cliques, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, HR offers little to no support and often seems more focused on covering issues rather than addressing them. The workload is excessively demanding, with unrealistic expectations placed on individuals to manage complex tasks alone. Training is minimal and inadequate, leaving employees underprepared and vulnerable to blame when system failures, caused largely by unreliable software occur. Leadership lacks professionalism, with passive-aggressive communication being a recurring issue. Additionally, there are serious concerns regarding confidentiality, as private employee information is sometimes casually discussed among staff.
