The IT dept in the School of Construction needs real management. Having been there for only a month, I experienced micromanagement gone completely mad. The overall feeling of trust in staff is non-existent. I was constantly spied on and berated by my immediate supervisor for even the smallest mistakes and things that were not even true. She even yells at me when I try to explain myself and twists the truth out of proportion to implicate guilt on my part. I worked in IT for two decades and I know very well the difference between good and bad leadership, and she (my immediate supervisor) has taken micromanagement to an entirely new low level. She is extremely short-fused, paranoid, vindicative, condescending, and never has anything positive to say to anyone. Her so-called management style is a joke and she is toxic to the point that she caused me so much stress to the point of being physically ill. And this is only after ONE month! Never in my 20 years of working in IT have I experienced an unfriendly and toxic environment!
