Breeding Ground for Negativity and Nastiness

Pros

Good health benefits, great team-members

Cons

Management is the worst I have ever been subjected to. No matter the accomplishments we were all made to feel like we did nothing right. The people in positions of power (most locations) are awful human beings who pick favorites and bully the rest. Working at STCU for two years remains to be the worst decision I've made for my career. Do not let them loop you in by stating you will move up quickly and be part of the headquarters if you work hard. Hard work gets you nowhere, butt kissing does, but even then, you have to be liked enough to be allowed to butt kiss. I was targeted day one and never stood a chance after that.

First, thank you for taking the time to write this review and let us know – feedback from both current and former employees is very helpful for us. We are sorry that your experience was not what we work hard to provide for our employees, and that most employees let us know that they have with us. We have ongoing practices in place, such as monthly check-ins with your team and open feedback channels with Human Resources to give our employees an opportunity to share these kinds of concerns and a formal exit interview process where we hope to learn about the employee’s experiences throughout their time working at STCU. Please know that your feedback is being shared. We would also encourage you to contact us (anonymously again, if you would like) at jobs@stcu.org with a few more details so we can look further into your experience. We appreciate the years you spent working with us, and wish you the best in your career.

Pros

STCU strives to be a good community partner while keeping its name out there. They contribute to the outlying areas too where there are branches.

Cons

Definately who you know gets you farther. There is an ongoing popularity contest and power struggle. I've seen good people get passed up by managers who berate employees with above average performance. I've also seen very good long term employees get demoted and subsequently fired. STCU projects a "Disneyland" employee experience - but falls flat on it's face when you get inside.

Pros

Local/community focus Co-workers are great Okay benefits (401k match, lower deductible health plan)

Cons

-Very low pay compared to other FI's in the area -Leadership (direct mgmnt and Directors/CEO) make decisions without even considering effect on those doing the job. -Growth is great for some and horrible for others. Some teams are a club that you have to be a part of to join. -Does not practice what they preach whenit comes to their core values.
