Pros

Flexibility and work life/balance was good. My managers were very accommodating and we always got on well. Salary was ok and most of the office were nice and experienced. I enjoyed a lot working for STX.

Cons

Sadly, the US office finance dept was mostly shambles. No Documentation or processes in place, not proper understanding or willing to follow procedures that were set up to comply with specific country accountancy laws. Some people were pure lazy and had to be told every month to do task that were supposed to do monthly. Lamentably, after of the Najafi take over, and after the hard work the UK office put during Covid, the management decided to close the London office. I'm not pretty sure the company will survive as it is at the moment.

Pros

-Has somehow managed to remain in the good graces of TPG and China financiers -Some of the future slate selections show vision and good taste -Good place to go if you are early in your career and want to elevate your title

Cons

-CEO and former President overstated or blatantly misrepresented key facts across the board from the company’s numbers to current traction to past accomplishments to create leverage in a deal or momentary relevance -Constantly chasing the next “shiny ball” to get the company public and cash out. This naked money grab has not served the company nor culture well. Many of the phony “glowing” culture reviews on GlassDoor appear just weeks/days before the short-lived HongKong IPO listing in April -Terrible back-stabbing between executives that emanates from the top -Huge executive turnover caused by broken promises, awful communication and lack of integrity across the board -Cheap in stupid ways with talent, marketing and investment in the long term vision of the business beyond going public
