Great team across the board and wonderful patients

Pros

This is a clinic where you have the opportunity to prove your abilities and take ownership of responsibilities. It is fast-paced and the standards are very high - we take patient care seriously so the standards have to be. Dr. Cooper expects the team to meet these standards whether answering the phone, rooming a patient, drawing blood, responding to patient concerns or fluffing the waiting room chair-pillows. But these aren't difficult expectations to meet - if you are professional, competent and care. I was paid well (maybe a bit above market based on what I see on Indeed) and the clinic pays 75% of our medical, dental and vision insurance. There are now regular performance meetings and I felt supported and encouraged by Dr. Cooper. And you only work 4 days.

Cons

You need a car to get to the office since there isn't a bus option. Luckily there is free street parking. The days can be long, but again, 3-day weekends. Expectations are high .

Physicians need managers. Practices need EMRs

Pros

friendly patients: basically "not sick" people. I liked all the staff as well as the folks who shared our office space. Good location. Good overall idea of a practice - poor execution.

Cons

Using Microsoft Office suite as an EMR is not effective. Made scheduling a nightmare. Provider was constantly running late, being almost an hour behind was a "good" day. Very profit driven. If you weren't bringing in money through any series of unnecessary tests, you were in the dog house. The physician was her own manager. There was a general consensus of fear when it came to bringing anything up with her. In the year I worked there, everyone was actively looking to get out. I did procedures as instructed by physician which I later learned were out of my scope of practice. Physician didn't want to spend money to get someone who was licensed on board. Money was always a huge part of the practice. Patients who had deeper pockets got special treatment at the expense of those who could hardly afford to see her, especially because we didn't accept insurance. Despite her not being allowed as per court order to treat her employees, she added a patient to out payroll to put them on our companies insurance plan. When king5 came on board, she took the opportunity to take the publicity rather than take care of her patients.

Pros

Relatively nice healthy patients who seems to have no issue with a revolving door of employees. Who are don't seem to mind to pay a abundant amount cash for a hypothesis based medical practice that will not take insurance.

Cons

There is a questionable amount of turnover of employees due the emotional driven management. Which consists of unappropriated displays of affection between manager and provider. You will be "talked to" via email on a hourly basis with very condescending and belittling tones. Also you will be reminded that practice is making no money and you can quit if you are unhappy. The science behind of the weight loss( lifestyle change) is unfounded and ultimately will hurt the patient financially and maybe physically. Think HERBAL LIFE with aid of big money pharmaceutical companies.
