Pros

The only pro is the parent of Shell Energy is the Shell Group

Cons

Shell Energy is not integrated with the Shell Group. In fact, the culture is very much Hudson Energy the company Shell bought. Small company-minded culture. A toxic environment if you speak up about anything unjust or what the management doesn't agree with. It is their way or the highway. As an employee, you don't really have a voice, if you try to flag anything that does not fit with the management's narrative you are quickly moved on through technicalities.. The management operates a click culture, HR in particular is part of the management click. Your career is at the mercy of your line manager's whim. Shell Energy has limited career opportunities.

Pros

Shell take employee welfare very seriously. Opportunities for development are generally very good. Workplace respect and equality is very strongly supported. Generally the people are very good to work with.

Cons

Quite chaotic, there still seems to be some disconnect between the Exec/Extended leadership team and the rest of the business. Changes are commonly made without full appreciation of the implications, adding to complexity and workloads. A bit too much of a "fast paced, dynamic environment" - at the moment anyway.

Intensely Stressful

Pros

Ability to work from home. If in office, there are facilities for prayer and staff showers/locker rooms. The office security is a good standard.

Cons

Excessive workload with little discussion of pay scaling. Poor commission scheme, pays in Love2Shop vouchers. Management capabilities range from slightly capable to completely useless. Little to no consistency in decisions made by upper management. Overall, poor leadership and awful pay.
