I worked there for 3 years and I worked towards a long term planned and my career prospect within Sonder when the time came to make my application internally I did not receive an interview nor acknowledgement of my application after 8 weeks. When I asked about my application I was told ‘were looking into this.” It was at this point where I had realised I was working a dead end job with no career prospects of any career opportunities. It’s a shame because I had so many ideas/skills I was prepared to share/implement but what happened to me didn’t surprise me.
I was underpaid for 2 months consecutively with one of the months I was missing 1k of my wages. I had to do the inquiry as my managers had a nonchalant attitude towards my situation. It’s a shame really because I read another review here about someone who experienced something similar.
There was a corporate shift in where many job titles changed and new positions were created however this changed the over atmosphere/dynamics of the team. They created mini managers who were on clear power trips and fed their egos. The shift also caused many employees to lose their voices, a lot of the staff are clearly overworked and stressed.
HR fail to look at issues and incidents from an unbiased point of view.
Overall the company has a good culture/identify on paper however that doesn’t translate into real life. In my 3 years I watched many staff/managers come and go and it’s no wonder why.
These opinions are formed based on my experience and observations. I could continue to list cons but these 3 are the biggest ones that stand out to me.
