Pros

PS is a big company and I can't speak for every team and function, but my team (relatively small) are great. They're very chill and friendly, but they're also really smart and hard-working. It's amazing that such a small team is able to achieve so much. And it's not because of pressure, more because the work we're doing is interesting and we want to do it, and we get recognition for it. We have a good amount of autonomy and we're trusted to get things done without being micromanaged. PS also has some great perks, especially if you're into games. I've been able to travel to GDC which was really cool. On-site cafeteria is great. There is a focus on breaking down silos within the company and sharing knowledge and experience. There's currently no push within my team for being on-site x days per week; I wouldn't even mind going in but it's nice that it's so flexible. Working hours are really flexible; nobody is counting and as long as you get your work done and turn up to required meetings then there's no issue. It's also nice to see other people's reactions when you say you work for PlayStation; everyone knows who PS are and typically see the brand fondly (you'll often see people wearing PS-branded clothes out and about), so it's nice to know that you're working for a company that has that kind of positive association.

Cons

Office is pretty empty most of the time; not a problem if you like working from home but I'd prefer it to be a bit busier. The progression structure feels a bit vague and arbitrary.

Pros

amazing team, decent bonuses for managers and non-managers.

Cons

limited career progression, loads of internal politics, some senior directors/managers, vp/svp are borderline incompetent. Japan has a strong influence of who moves up and who doesn't.

Pros

Great pay, benefits, flexibility with working locations, actual hybrid not forced 2 days per week for no reason

Cons

Very slow and some of the people have large egos. Lots of politics to navigate
