Pros

Had a great editor but constrained by the corporate's philosophy of working reporters to within an inch of complete exhaustion at $14/hour.

Cons

As staff cuts kept happening, more stories from theater reviews to city hall meetings to business news fell to me and included mandatory front page story with photo, full-page feature, with photo, and at least two to three other news stories -- all of which had once been delivered by three reporters. No, my salary did not triple. Never, never got more than $14/hour after three years. I quit, took a job cleaning that paid $16/hour.

Poop rolls down hill!

Pros

If you have a time machine and would like to get accustomed to an outdated crummy work culture before time traveling this is your place!

Cons

The CEO, Gloria Fletcher is so out of touch it's laughable! Poop rolls downhill directly from this person who should not be running this company. She does not know what she is doing, we would often have to clarify basic business acronyms to her. The rest of the executive team is making it up as they go, doing 4 - 5 jobs at once while balancing unrealistic expectations. Those unrealistic expectations and budget cuts are passed on down to the next level of staff and so on. The pay is terrible, the benefits are worse, there is no structure, no positive morale, antiquated office polices, nothing works!! It's a very depressing and grossly mismanaged place to work.

Don't Waste Your Time! Run Away Now!

Pros

There are no pros unless you are unemployed and have no other choice. Even then, only stay for as long as it takes to find something else.

Cons

No room for advancement. Immature management. CEO is only in the position because his father is the CEO of parent company. No raises. No recognition. The only thing you can be assured of is more work because no one that leaves is replaced and you will pick up the slack.
