Quality of the Spires tech combines seamlessly with a management team who focus intensely on customer satisfaction to result in a level of product and service I have not seen elsewhere in the tutoring market. As a tutor you and your end customer's interests are aligned; sometimes the agencies can get in the way but Spires wants all stakeholders to be happy. Breath of fresh air.
Cons
If not for a specific exam, sometimes when they arrive the customers don't know exactly which level they want. More a problem with the customers than the company I reckon! That's the only point I'd make though
Spires is perfect for a freelance tutor like myself as it gives me the flexibility to dictate my own hours. What really sets it apart is the platform that connects me with the marketplace and individual lessons/students all from the same place and I have found the interface a lot more easy to navigate than other similar sites. The management team were also helpful in responding to my questions during setting up my profile/account.
Cons
It can be quite hard to get accepted as a tutor but I guess, from the customers side, that they want to ensure they are offering very good tutors. It also took them a bit of convincing to make them let me teach another related subject but they were ultimately open to conversation.
