Students, faculty, and staff are great, administration is the worst I've seen anywhere
Pros
There are many students who are committed to grow their faith in Christ and motivated to learn. Staff are talented, and very supportive. Most faculty are deeply invested in mentoring, training, and discipling students.
Cons
Unfortunately, the university is in a sad state under the current administration. This president brought in peers from his former university in TX, and none (especially the provost, who is somehow still in place after receiving a faculty vote of no confidence 3 years ago) seem to have a true concern for the traditions and commitment to faith for which God has blessed SAU these last 150 years. They have largely replaced our commitment to Christ with a focus on athletics, the sense of community is now extremely fractured, and many folks are leaving or being let go. Many folks have expressed concerns the current administration might even run the place right out of business. The Board of Trustees remains oblivious or unresponsive. I would recommend not joining SAU until a new administration is in place.
