Pros

Friendly co-workers, students seem happy

Cons

The students were the only saving grace but after a while, that gives way to self preservation. - Major lack of management training, hence the unprofessionalism. - Promises either forgotten or flat out not kept: GET IT IN WRITING. ANY notifications you give or get, from interview on, get it in writing. - Non competitive salary - Non competitive benefits ( Ex: Paid vacation=2 days after 1 yr; 3 days after 2 yrs; etc.) [ Apparently this changed in the last couple of weeks so ask] - MAJOR MICRO-MANAGEMENT that may include cameras in offices. - MAJOR MICRO-MANAGENT -An Opressive work environment partially due to the above but also because the above seems to be mandated from one person. One way or the highway. - That lack of automomy supersedes even your own demonstrated ability to do your own job. You will be Micro-Managed. Possibly by someone who may not be qualified to do so. Go figure. - Unclear direction of the school as a whole; management didn't know what kind of results they were expecting which leads to unnecessary pressure. - Nepotism is strong. ( Ex: Family members head most departments and possibly more than one dept.) I was warned early on that if it ever came between me or a family member that the family member will come out on top. Great intro to a new position huh? - No tuition discount for employees' families, despite years of service - Appreciation is given as an afterthought. Usually in the form of some certificate or other. - Raises were hard fought for. Even when previously discussed and promised. Again, writing... - No training process to speak of. - CRM created in house and very UN-user friendly. They keep adding to it (patching) but it continues to be inefficient which leads to more frustration.

Pros

As a non contract employee, there were few perks Free parking Technology [when working] was appropriate for the level of education

Cons

-no contract as an instructor -employment is contingent upon the whims of the dean and president [private college] -the students rule the campus in that they decide who will teach and how difficult the subject matter will be -money rules the decision making process rather than actual need for education -there is no room to move within the company -scheduling is inconsistent and haphazard

Pros

The education programs are good and students benefit.

Cons

Employee benefits are outrageously expensive. Cameras all over the place even in HR to listen and watch employees. CEO watches who goes to HR and complains. No employee perks at all. If you want direct deposit of your paycheck it will cost you $1.00 per paycheck, how cheap is that! Salaries are well below market and there is an overwhelming culture of mistrust. Everything that goes to HR is reported to the CEO. The turnover is very high. Everyone has to electronically sign in even exempt employees.
