Unpleasant office culture and micro managing

Pros

The salary and overall financial benefits are good. Hybrid working.

Cons

The office culture and the management style (inexperienced managers/a lot of micro managing) is really not great at all and because this is a very small office, this overpowers one's entire experience at the place, making it rather unpleasant.

Pros

Overtime, remote work, friendly coworkers

Cons

There are so many. Micro management. Every single email that goes out to client needs to be reviewed. You will get no assistance from management or co-workers to get your work done. For example, you will make calls to 45 + clients to confirm wire instructions with no help from your co-workers. It needs to be done the same day. When client want something you are required to drop everything and cater to the client. Don't fall for their lies, this is a fund accounting sweatshop.

Pros

-Highly competitive salary (although the raises/bonuses are poor, so I hope you like your starting salary) -The financial industry is relatively interesting

Cons

Standish likes to say they have work-life balance, they love to train people, they are super flexible...etc etc etc...but actions speak louder than words. This company is the definition of an accounting sweat shop. They don't care about how you are managing your workload, only that you get it done. Turnover is and has been an issue here...and they simply do not care. You are just a number to them. You are expected to be on call 24/7, 365 days/year. The expectation is to drop whatever you are doing to assist with a client need. Yes, WHATEVER you are doing. At any time of day or night. No matter what else you have going on in your life. Quite literally the opposite of work-life balance. The software this company uses is nonexistent. EVERYTHING, and I mean everything, is done in excel. That's it. No sophisticated software (like they advertised) whatsoever. No "binder" to keep your workpaper organized. Nothing. Management is two-faced, manipulative, and awful human beings. Do not believe their lies. No paid parking or parking reimbursement for their office. Unlimited PTO is a nice euphemism for, "You work all the time." Health insurance is poor. As mentioned above, the raises and bonuses are insultingly low. They treat even their top performers poor. With actions and words. Overall, please please please choose a different accounting firm. This place is the worst I have ever seen. So bad, I genuinely think they are preparing for an acquisition based on how poorly everything is running.
