Pros

Benefits are good. There's a personal trainer available for use, grocery service with food delivered (monthly, I think), and a very relaxed environment. Some of the clients are pretty interesting.

Cons

Empty promises from management, lack of organization, no accountability for upper level employees, asked to lie to clients on behalf of management, dishonesty to employees on major aspects of the company, and a poor work/life balance

Statwax Response

Thank you for your feedback, and I apologize for not responding sooner. I am sorry that your experience at Statwax has not been what you thought it would be, and that you do not feel as though you have been valued during your time here. We appreciate the thoughts you have shared with us, and we will use them and others we receive to inform improvements we can make for our company and our people. I want to make sure to specifically address a few concerns you brought up in your piece: Transparency is a core value for us, and we strive to communicate with our employees clearly and promptly about company procedures and policies - with this core value as a guiding light. As we have been growing rapidly, some of that communication may have been lost in translation. We are working hard every day, with input from all of our employees, to refine those methods so everyone feels like they are on the same page with goals and expectations. Transparency also applies to our clients, who have insight into their team, their budget spends, reporting, platforms, etc. at all times. If we can’t meet a deadline or expectation of a client, we inform them as soon as possible and work together with them to establish a new timeline. Our clients, including our largest ones, consistently name our transparency with them as a reason that they choose to work with us (and stay working with us). We also work very hard to make sure that each employee here feels valued on a daily basis. We make sure that from the leadership team down, every employee knows that we have an open door policy to share concerns about feeling valued, work/life balance, and even any personal concerns you might have. We also make sure to proactively check in with each employee to see how things are going or if we notice an issue, outside of any regularly scheduled one-on-one or team meetings. Again, thank you for your feedback. Alyshia Madlem Executive Vice President

Pros

Sounds nice from the outside and makes you appreciate the weekends more.

Cons

They hide things from their clients, such as a half day Friday during the summer. This is actually an on-call half day because they don't want clients to know about it. They claim to be flexible but you cannot arrive a few minutes late even if you work several hours after 5 and sometimes on the weekends. The president was a joke and promised the world to clients without any understanding of how marketing works. He'd sell services we didn't offer and then try to back our way into delivering it. Everyone in the office would be tense from coworkers being unexpectedly fired without much explanation. They claim that the games in the office is "culture" but then give you no work-life balance and crush you under a giant workload. It's all smoke and mirrors until you get there and learn that they only trust the opinions of their home-grown talent. As an example of the environment: They held a meeting where they decided to take away 1/3 of the PTO days and further limit work-from-home days but the decision makers were grandfathered in to keep the same amount of PTO. They also removed the half-day summer Fridays on a whim and then reinstated it by saying that we had to answer any client emails or requests we received during this "time off". They promise a lot and don't deliver.
