Pros

Paid Training (CAD training) Benefits (cheap medical and dental coverage with good 401K) Get to travel US

Cons

Low pay (they say its offset by OT, but not always offered) Can be difficult to advance New procedures implemented weekly without notice Threaten to fire employees during Covid cut backs (tell employees they should be happy they have a job) Micro manage employees at all times Create unrealistic deadlines at times and expect you to work the OT to get it done Have to take tests to get a raise, they do not give you them for just being a good employee (can expect only $1-$3 per year max) Can do more difficult work without raise if you have not met the hour quote to receive raise Last minute notice

Not Great.

Pros

The opportunity for travel was great although it was common practice to share a room with a team member. Expense reimbursement rules were reasonable. Opportunity for training and collaboration was generally positive. Tech leverage and production practices were efficient.

Cons

Middle-management was problematic as many were promoted with little experience and felt like they had to prove their superiority. Standardized testing was more often cause for withholding pay increases and promotions, but framed as "proving grounds." Shortly after leaving, they eventually got rid of any POC and women in management positions. As a POC, I feel like I was overlooked for promotion despite performance and knowledge. Low point was being called out for disheveled uniform after having been told to spend my day field checking parking levels, mechanical rooms, and janitor closets.
