Pros
Best Culture you can ask for at a Startup.
* Management cares. Got covid? No one will check how many leave you have remaining. Got emergency? No one will pester you.
* Management is all ears and actually understands what work is being done, what's possible, what's hard to do, and what will take time, instead of shouting AI AI at everything, and over committing to some client and then making you build something, coz 'AI should be able to do it'. That's extremely rare for an AI startup.
* Working with State of the Art models and research
* Monthly 1v1 with the management where you can discuss your issues or any change of heart on what you want to work on, and they listen, and let you decide what direction your work in
* Weekends off. No one will ping you or ask what you did over the weekends. That was a surprise when I joined, since my previous employer kept bugging me on weekends and we hardly got any weekends off.
* Leaves, even when you announce on the day of your leave, unless you are working on something critical with a strict deadline from some client, no one will ask you to not take a leave, or ask you to work odd hours.
* Highly transparent regarding the business. Business meet once every month where they let everyone know what's happening on the business side, what potential clients they are talking to, which potential clients they showed the demo to, what are the current POs, how much revenue they are currently generating, etc.
Cons
Couldn't pinpoint anything yet.
It's a startup so there will be some issues that come with fast paced development like lack of proper code documentations, following a strict coding style guide, etc.
But unless you are working for someone big company like FAANG, fast paced development and strict coding guidelines rarely occur together. So don't join a startup if you think this is actually a con.
