Pros

-easy to get hired on -technically a start in the Tech industry -Remote work -Work/Life balance

Cons

My manager was not good, she asked so many inappropriate questions about my personal life and tried to tie it back to my work ethic. I also have never seen a person in charge micromanage as much as she did, especially for a remote job. It was very unsettling. You're also encouraged to basically tell churches that they will save more souls if they adopt the subsplash platform. I felt very conflicted by that, but my manager continued to push me to do it.

I felt supported in my role and was given many resources to help me succeed. Remote work was a plus.

Cons

On the hiring side of things, Subsplash really presents itself as a professional tech company, and intentionally hides its hyper-evangelical Christian culture from new hires. Going into the job, I felt comfortable engaging with church communities in a sales capacity, but as someone who is not personally a Christian, I was extremely put off by the pressure to pray in company team meetings and to devote my success to the glory of God. Subsplash is a for-profit tech company that behaves at every level like a church camp. I also found it extremely problematic that it was common and discreetly accepted for employees to say pretty offensive things about the LGBTQ+ community, such as that they are going to hell, because there was simply an assumption that every person working for Subsplash held mainstream evangelical beliefs. My mentor when I started once told me that he believed we shouldn't be selling Subsplash to most of our clients because they weren't real Christians and were probably going to hell. In hindsight, I would never have applied for this job if I would have known how religiously suffocating it would be. Also their Salesforce accounts are a total mess and sales reps are expected to do a lot of data cleanup. Also you are selling a very expensive product to an industry (churches) that does not have extra cash to spare. It's very hard to sell Subsplash.

Pros

In my experience, the entire company really cares about the people that work there. From senior leadership down to most teams there seems to be a general desire to treat each other well and care for the overall person beyond what they can contribute.

Cons

The culture is a bit too "churchy". I realize that churches are the core client base but I think our overall focus should be on serving non-profits that are doing good in the world and not just "Christian" churches using a very cookie-cutter "modern" church approach.
