      Toxic culture and sinking ship

      Pros

      Great people/teams working extremely hard together Half day Fridays There’s a car park Employee forum try so hard to make an effort and a difference to people working there. Teams looking out for each other and supporting each other in times of distress.

      Cons

      Toxic culture Face doesn’t fit if you’re not a yes man to snr management. Under resourced Bad Management making terrible knee jerk decisions which impact the business & employees negatively. No check ins with managers The social media marketed Survitec is not a reflection of the real life Survitec Senior mgmt do not follow the Survitec values Newly relocated site cannot be accessed via public transport alienating Approx 70% of ops employees leaving them to rely on a company organised bus which they won’t confirm how long it will continue for leaving loyal long serving and aging employees stressed and worried about their future. This fear breeds the toxic culture.

      Sinking ship (Defence)

      Pros

      Great people in the teams and on shop floor. Very interesting products.

      Cons

      Poor business practice due to equity ownership and lender debt. Inter company comms are poor and can be bitter. Pretty toxic work environment. Untrustworthy HR. Poor pay across the board, especially shop floor. Poor work life balance. Lack of any career or progression opportunities.

      My team are good folk.

      Cons

      Department rivalry, no one wants to help you out. Obvious bottlenecks that no one wants to fix. Any advice is ignored. With over 5 years experience, expect to still be on a graduate wage. Any loyalty to the company is out the window. High turnover of staff Free on site parking is considered a benifit. Zero back fill. Expected to do multiple roles with no increase in pay. Obvious smoke and mirrors with the promise of awards for good work. Just pay staff fairly, most wages are £4-6k below average.
