RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI worked at Systemax full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Up to 2011, the company (trading as Misco) transformed into a nimble and dynamic reseller that embraced it's customers, employees and the vendor community. The culture was customer centric and the majority of employees were happy which was reflected in the low attrition rate across all country locations (8 in total). The mantra was very much driven by US management who brought a 'work hard, play hard' mentality that gave life to the organisation. Misco had become one of the leading IT resellers in Europe and a profitable division of Systemax.
Cons
New CEO hired in 2012 drastically changed the organisation.

Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookI have been working at Systemax full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Some amazingly talented people (or there were before they outsourced to Hungary and India), I have met and worked with a diverse and friendly bunch of very talented people during my time with Systemax.
Cons
Some amazingly incompetent or maybe just stubborn management that will follow through with a plan even when its clear to everyone around them and in some cases even themselves that its just a bad idea.

"Great colleagues, ineffectual management"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Systemax full-time for more than a year
Pros
Great work colleagues, who are more than willing to pull together.
Cons
Entropic management systems, upward feedback is neither encouraged, asked for, or listened to. Communication, management issue decrees and do not foster an inclusive team. Archaic processes and procedures. No communication of expectations, appraisal process is a joke. No training plans, no encouragement to advance knowledge. Ideas plagiarised by management for their own advancement. The organisation is not mature enough to realise, that the 'quiet teams' are more productive, than the teams that are shouting and 'fire fighting' problems of their own making (lean six sigma).

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Systemax full-time for more than 5 years
Pros
Co-workers are very professional, and care about what they do.
Cons
Horrendous management; care only about bottom line; they do not care about building or developing long term employees. Loyalty means nothing to them - they "manage" by lay-offs. They "think" they are progressive and employee centric, but nothing could be farther from the truth. Do not believe any of the corporate line. Their behavior speaks volumes. They lay-off long term employees, and replace them with 6 figure executives, who care only about money. Honestly, I do not know how this place is still in business.
