Pros

Great co-workers, and the teams are built very well. Good diversity with technical skill and background, and very good benefits.

Cons

Upper management doesn't care about people, only results. The burn out rate is pretty bad. It's sad because there are great things about this company, but the constant push for results (not quality, only quantity) is a real detriment. I was asked to go against coding standards, and sacrifice quality of work, so that my supervisor could show an unfinished product to upper management (we as a team were asked to use smoke and mirrors to make everything look functional). Countless times (more than 5), people were asked to work beyond 12am to get something done. No bonuses were given, no overtime paid, it was just expected of the employees to do it. They will push you to the limit, and then replace you in a year or so when you're burnt out. They have good learning tools, and encourage you to try new things. However, you'll never be given the time to do this, as they expect you to learn this new tool, and be an expert at it within an hour or two (slight exaggeration, but the point is there). If you take any more time, they tell you that you're hindering progress, and they will FIRE you. Don't let the remote opportunities, and flexible scheduling, fool you. You will be worked harder than you thought possible, and pushed even further than that at times.

Pros

Progressive company with a "go get em" attitude. Company is well funded and their main offices are pretty nice! They allow remote work and do well with collaboration and providing hardware for their engineers!

Cons

Management pushes solutions down to engineering for petty reasons (dynamodb is a buzzword and not something you use if you want to rely on lots of indexing). Expect to constantly be chasing your tail and questioning leadership's decisions. The whole UBA (universal benefits platform) is a mess/joke. After a while leadership brought in a couple (2) of yahoos from another department (who worked on a different technology with different/archaic) methodologies who proceeded to make everything worse. Lots of important people quit during my year here (tech leads, managers, etc) because they realized leadership just wouldn't listen/hear the issues. The system is a pile of unstable, unmaintainable, garbage. Expect a lot of corporate "horah" with little backing from corporate (the development offices that they rented for the UBA initiative were terrible with poor wifi, limited seating/desks, non-existant AC, it felt like working in an overcrowded incubator). Mind you this isn't the first attempt they've had at creating this UBA.. This was the 3rd attempt and it's failing just like the previous 2 did... Stay away from this company until they get their priorities figured out.

Pros

not many other than flexible hours

Cons

Puts so much into their Executives and expects the rest of us to work with very little time off and when we do take time off, we still are expected to answer emails and texts and yet they won't reimburse us for the time they take from us on our off hours that they take from us
