A good place to gain entry-level accounting knowledge. You will get a full cycle of accounting and GAAP compliance experience. Everyone has a clear idea of what their responsibilities are. Good team to work with.
Cons
Management micromanages employees. There is not much room for vertical growth, only horizontal transitions with cross-training. Management expects you to stay very late even when your work is complete because other employees have made it a habit to work 12+ hours, even when not necessary. Management cannot identify bottlenecks within the departments and rewards long hours with avg productivity instead of rewarding the people who work hard and finish their job within the appropriate work hours. Management cannot take constructive criticism. The finance department is often expected to miss company activities because "there is a lot of work to do".
