Management is moving them backwards

Pros

Friday drinks Plenty of work to do; you're never bored

Cons

Bullying and belittling of staff. Management was known for their outbursts and it became a part of the culture. The style has become increasingly micromanaging with very little trust for staff. The team lost its energy - management squashed it. "Yes men" were given special treatment. IT systems were dated and clunky to use and didn't integrate with other software (payroll, CRM).

As a management team, we’re always really excited when new talent joins the organisation and disappointed when, for whatever reason, it turns out to not be a mutual fit. Micro-management is usually only a necessity when a person has oversold their skills and clearly isn’t up to the task of leading an effective team within our culture. Rather than leaving them to flail, other Managers will step in. We are proud that much of our awesome talent has been with us for the long term. 50% of our workforce has worked for the business for over 8 years and have enjoyed an extra week of annual leave for their service, and 20% of the team have worked for the business for over 12 years. It is disappointing when ex employees use public forums to smear the reputation of a business and their former manager. Addressing poor performance is not something any manager relishes and there are always two sides to a story.

Pros

There were a couple of good people but the politics and backstabbing outweighed it all.

Cons

From the minute you join it is all downhill. The gossip, nagging and political backstabbing is overwhelming and worse than a high school play ground. If you think you can go to the ceo or her pet manager team about it all you are in for a surprise because they are the worst of them all, ceo included. The blow ups when people resigned was popcorn worthy and would stun any business professional. In the few years I was there, and the few since I've left, there have been nearly 200 employees come and go. Even the ceo's partner could not handle working with her after a few short months and left too. There are temper tantrums that will give a 2 year old a run for his money, hissing fits and cuss words like I have never before witnessed. They can start there of circus because someone will pay to watch this all go down. Large fortune 500 companies don't even experience this amount of turnover. That in itself speaks volumes. Whether it is fit for employment, is a totally different matter all together.

This is a repeat review from the same person who posts reviews every few days. And as per other reviews, all information is grossly incorrect. Perhaps the writer of these multiple bad reviews full of inaccuracies should focus on moving on with their life instead of posting repeat negative reviews every three days. No partner has left. The company hasn’t hired 200 staff. I could go on but we don’t have any interest in getting into a war of words online. We prefer to act with dignity and with maturity. Please note, you have been reported for your online abuse.

Pros

hours are 9-5.30pm. Never have to work late.

Cons

poor technology, both dated, slow PC hardware and slow dated software, including the software the business develops. Aggressive micro-management style, constantly moving goal posts.

We make no apologies for being an action oriented business that’s about getting results for our clients. At interview, we’re upfront and honest that our culture is about ‘doing’ it, not just talking about doing it. If you’re someone who likes lots of long meetings, decision making by committee and talking about what’s wrong with the office equipment, we accept that you’re probably not going to enjoy working here. We don’t have layers of red tape and bureaucracy; we try to hire people who want a role they can make their own and we empower them to do that right from day 1. Micro-management is usually only a necessity when a person has oversold their skills and clearly isn’t up to the task of leading an effective team within our culture. Rather than leaving them to flail, other Managers will step in. We also take pride in our policy that we don’t discourage you from having your own freelance interests outside of work time and even offer part time hours to help our team achieve whatever balance they are looking for. However, if it’s clear you have no real passion for us and are only interested in promoting yourself, we’ll be frank: this wont be the right company for you.
