Pros

If you don't want to work or even show up to work butstill get great pay, benefits, free health insurance, a pension, and luxury trips and expensive dinners this is the place for you. You feel good fighting for workers and members but what goes on in the marble palace make you disgusted.

Cons

People in headquarters don't even show up to work- no accountability if your in favor. Expect to come here and waste away. Stuck in the 1950's. Rampant sexual harassment. Member's work hard to pay overpriced salaries and benefits and lots of luxury trips and dinners. There really should be investigations into this. Political backstabbing. People who aren't qualified gets Cush jobs because of political favor or nepotism and they never ever leave. If only the members knew what really goes on. Shameful to do this on the backs of working people. No wonder unions are irrelevant.

Pros

The benefits and the pension. A lot of good co-workers. A good cause. Great members.

Cons

Incompetent people in job positions they aren't qualified for because of nepotism/family relations within the organization at a very large scale. The three worst departments are travel, organizing, and communications. Organizing and communications just burn through people but travel is just poorly run all the way around.

Pros

great healthcare benefit plan including no cost insurance. FICA is reimbursed, 35-hour work week. In house cafeteria is wonderful and a complete meal cost $5. Close to public transportation.

Cons

union leadership which started in 2022 is horrible. An unprecedented amount of nepotism, incompetent HR personnel, and horrible culture of male chauvinism and elite-ism. Despirate pay between Class I and Class II employees, complete lack of diversity in upper management.
