Pros

You are getting paid a salary.

Cons

This company is bleeding financials and needs to be investigated. There are numerous lay offs and terminations with or without pay to save financials and this is a known concept all the way up to the CEO. Everything within this company is built on deception and being a “start up” and going through “growing pains” is just an excuse for them to hide behind to lure providers and employees in. Tebra sells their EHR to small practices and those starting their own business because they know that they are the most vulnerable. A “free trial period” is pitched by sales when in reality providers are being locked into a years contract. There is a lot of grey area in the employee handbook leaving everything up for interruption and assigned HRBP’s know absolutely nothing. This concept is used at the discretion of the company to terminate individuals when they feel the need. Everyone walks on eggshells and has a "cover yourself" mentally because anyone can be terminated at any moment and it does not matter if you are the VP or a Customer Service Representative. With this type of environment you will never be able to have genuine connections with your coworkers because everyone is concerned with their livelihood being ripped from under them. If you want a stable career, good work-life balance, and non-toxic environment; I would suggest you start looking elsewhere. Please take this as a warning.

Pros

The company used to be awesome to work for before they merged with patient pop to become Tebra. The only thing that would be a pro is working remotely and possibility of unlimited PTO depending on your position Most of the actual employees and their teams are great people who try to be there for one another. You can make great friends and connections.

Cons

After the company merged with Patient Pop. It all went down hill. So many leadership changes that affected moral for all teams, 4 lay offs within a year causing work to be piled onto whoever is left. Many directors and Vps were let go as well. I can probably count 3 different VPs or Directors coming in and out within the past year. And I promise you, they know nothing of the product or the people. Many many talented people were let go who had key responsibilities in the company, and because of their absents, have caused delays for all customers and their needs causing sever escalations with no resolution and even bigger stress on the employees. There is no structure to this company anymore. They have leadership from the Patient Pop side taking over the teams on the Kareo side who do not even know how to use the EHR system. The feeling of "caring for our employees" has gone out the window. Forget about Pay. They are not competitive with other companies, nor are they following market standards or rise in inflation. The future of this company is very unknown. Look elsewhere for a place that will actually care about their employees, pay you properly for your skills, and provide you a road to success. I promise you it's not this company!

Pros

Plenty, but having a hard time being objective about it right now.

Cons

Layoffs are never a fun thing to experience and we've had two major ones (10% and 9% headcount reductions) over the past 10 months. Most concerning about this round are the deep cuts made to the Product and Engineering groups, at a time when we know there are significant product issues (missing/incomplete features) as well as significant technology issues (stability, performance, reliability, etc.) that affect our users on a daily basis. Those problems aren't going away and now we have fewer people to address them. This will affect end users and result in greater customer churn, not less. I fear that we will lose business because of these layoffs.
