Pros

One of the last media types to be disrupted. A really solid team, good work like balance and good sense of community. Seems like it is a product category that. Team is friendly and CEO seems to care about people

Cons

The location used to be good in Palo Alto, but moved to Menlo park right near 101 and nothing around there. Strange equity structure because it is partially owned by the Publishers. It just never seemed to break out.

Pros

Recently raised a big round of funding Support of content providers (big magazine publishers) Last big medium to go the way of the proven all-you-can-eat pricing model Rarely work long hours

Cons

Bad location: terrible traffic on the 101, far from Caltrain, no nearby restaurants Bad management: Pushes to deliver too much too fast so teams are stressed and demoralized. Reluctant to deal with attitude problems. Yelling at teams for not delivering even when it's clear they worked hard and did their best. A few bad seeds: People you cannot rely on to do their job and do it well. Siloed departments: Little collaboration, support, team work Slipping product quality: Growing technical debt. Hundreds of bugs that aren't being fixed. No strong support for working from home

Pros

We have fun every day and genuinely feel we can disrupt an industry and be successful creating the best content experience out there.

Cons

Being the result of a joint venture it can sometimes feel like we're not moving fast enough.
