I have been working at The Ivy Collection full-time

    Pros

I do not have any pros.

    Cons

Yesterday I had an interview at The Ivy Spinningfields for a full-time receptionist role. The interviewer was late to our scheduled interview and when he did come to meet me he mentioned how busy he was and seemed distracted. This made me feel uncomfortable from the word go as I felt like it was an inconvenience for him to give up his time. The interview was brief and I didn’t feel that the interviewer was invested in our conversation. As the interview took place at the bar, it was clear to me that he was distracted and was looking around the restaurant, even commenting on how busy it was and rarely making eye contact/engaging with me. I left after 20 minutes (10 minutes of 'interview' time, 10 minutes of waiting) feeling frustrated and as though I had wasted my time and money in attending the interview as there was no real opportunity for us to get to know each other. I was really looking forward to the interview, being a customer of the Ivy myself, and my experience left me with a sour taste. The Ivy holds itself to a high standard and this wasn’t the sort of experience I would have expected. Ultimately, based on the interview it was clear to me that this wasn’t an environment I would have enjoyed working in. Today I received an email stating my application will not be progressed further, which is what I was expecting based on the interview. However, I can't help but feel extremely disappointed and frustrated as there was absolutely no way the interviewer had any real understanding of my abilities or suitability for the role after such as short, unprofessional chat. I highly recommend avoiding applying for any roles at the Ivy Spinningfields, as to be quite honest it seemed as though all they wanted to do was assess if I was attractive enough for the role.
