Pros
You gain the experience of exactly the OPPOSITE a company should be, which is helpful when you look for your next job.
Cons
- Work/life balance is atrocious - Their motto "Work smarter not harder" is literally the exact opposite of what they execute - Sugar coat the "family business" aspect for their over-worked, underpaid staff - Communication is terrible, from the owners down to the store associates - Owners and supervisors/directors unable to make any decisions for sales until last minute, causing the whole company to stress and tension - You have to BEG for a raise, or you will not get one. Be prepared to fight tooth and nail to get your hard work recognized. There are people who make $20k+ more than their managers/bosses. There is no correct salary evaluations, it's whatever goes... or who they like and dislike most. - You sign a contract your first day saying you will work 45+ hours a week. - Employees must work 6 days straight (9 hour shifts), including Christmas Eve, during holidays, making a total of 50+ work hours for every general employee
