ITS A MADHOUSE! PURE CHAOS!!!

Pros

a few nice people to work with. $200 stipend to work with on cell phone, internet and home office (but really this is to offset the expensive benefits they "offer". work is remote.

Cons

Pay seems fair until you realize they get you in the door at a salary for a marketing firm but its actually a consulting firm... Also its a madhouse. It is a constant fire trying to be put out. It really is a frustrating and terribly chaotic place to work. You have a ton of relatives who work at the company. Daughters of partners that would can't really argue with or do your job. The culture is pretty bad. Upper management is overly involved in all that is going on. They sit in on meetings and taker them over and yell at people who are doing it their way. At first, it seems relaxed but really it is a lot of micromanaging from upper management It is impossible to get your work done for this company. They also might have you report to more than one person which really makes the job even harder. You will have more than one person telling you to do it more than one-way... it is very annoying. The benefits are awful... unaffordable and expensive. As for training they literally have next to nothing to train you on. They will just throw you into the hot mess they have already created and expect you to be able to perform well. They will tell you little to no travel but really they will travel you to death. The PTO is pretty bad too. 10 days a year… that’s it. I would not recommend anyone to work here… There are way better options out there.

We are going into our 12th year of business and are having our best year yet. 2/3 of our employees have been with us for 3 years or more, and 70% of our business comes from existing customers. We have less than 5% voluntary turnover each year and involuntary turnover is 3%. We have a very stable, strong and healthy company. Our benefits are broad and encompassing. We offer health care, dental, life, short term and long-term disability, 401K. PTO is 4 weeks per year, not 2 for all starting employees. In addition to this, our remote and flexible work environment is a major benefit. Employees can choose their own hours and manage their work/life rhythm to meet their needs. Our salaries are top of market - we pay on average 20% higher than all of our competitors. We provide ongoing and continuous training for skills as well as professional training. In the last year alone we have invested over $150,000 in training our employees, including professional skills such as communication and consulting. We have a thorough 1st year training program with an intensive 90 day on-boarding program for all new employees to prepare them for the job, assign mentors and provide continuous reinforcement. As a consulting firm, our employees work on multiple projects so will have different project managers and different employees to interact with on a daily basis - that is the job. But everyone has one direct manager that they report to. No employee travels more than 20% per year and the vast majority travel under 10%. Out of 65 employees, we do employ 3 relatives, one of which is a manager, having worked her way up from the bottom like everyone else. She was also voted as employee of the year by her peers - she earned it.

Pros

seasoned old management team.

Cons

- No analytics skills required to deliver value to customers - Horrifying! considering that data is the key to marketing insight - The customers are getting cheated out of value - Pedaling old stuff like new - Banking on relationships just to win projects

We don't have any analyst positions at our company and never have. Our management team has a tremendous amount of experience and most of our managers have been promoted from within and grown based on their contributions. We deliver value to our clients every day - that is why our clients have won more industry awards than any consulting firm and we have been recognized by Oracle and Marketo as Partner of the Year - the only company in the world to achieve this distinction. We continuously innovate and adapt to the marketplace to add value to our customers and 67% of our business each year comes from existing clients.

Lots of favoritism

Pros

Your colleagues are smart, talented, and driven. There are roles within the company that will afford you the opportunity to learn a great deal in a very short amount of time. Virtual Work Environment that allows for scheduling flexibility Variety of clients and projects Opportunity for growth if you’re willing to put in the time and effort

Cons

Management talks a lot about work / life balance. But, if you really want to get ahead you practically have to kill yourself to get there. Resources frequently pushed to burn out Favoritism is a big issue Health Insurance is expensive and not great PTO policy is outdated and below the market (Standard in the market is 3 weeks. TPG offers 2 weeks) Salaries are not consistent within any given role. Some people are paid at or above market while others are way below. Raises are generally doled out more generously to a favored few. If you come in at a junior level, it’s very hard to be seen as anything other than junior regardless of your contributions Unless you are one of the “favored” your voice and ideas is rarely heard or taken seriously. Mistakes might be forgiven but they’re never forgotten unless you are a favorite. Over time the company has begun to place less and less value on creativity. It’s all about process. Men and women are treated differently in the company. It’s not intentional but it is a fact.

We use a rubric for career progression that clearly outlines the competencies that everyone needs to achieve to grow in both title and salary.
