If you drink (I do not) you get a shift drink and discounted drinks.
Cons
Owners micromanage the bar. They will watch everything you do all night- if you are bartending. They consistently hop behind the bar when unnecessary. They will buy their friends drinks in their tabs all night- and they will be cocktails and you will not be tipped out. The cocktail menu has like 16 cocktails (for a dive bar this is excessive) and one even has 9 parts and they can't be prebatched. Only one well can sort of be set up for the menu- which makes it very difficult to serve customers. Owners will get drunk at the bar and bad mouth their employees to other employees. Will lie to employees about their worth and that they care. But all they care about is making money and looking cool owning a bar. They will not take any advice or suggestions seriously that will help the bar run smoother. Most times, the bartenders are wasted behind the bar. Owners have had a wedding party bus with 80 people on it show up (to an already busy night) with drink tickets- and did not tip bartenders. The bar is roach invested and the workers are asked to extra clean after their shift and kill the roaches. I was let go because I was sick and had no one to cover me (not my fault). They fired me over a text message and claimed problems that were unknown to me or even brought up to me before. Extremely unprofessional.
