I am responding as a member of the Management Team. We are glad to read that you enjoyed your experience with us. Whilst we do have monthly workshops available to all teachers on various topics, most of our team are already TEFL trained. Thank you very much for your feedback.

Pros

You get to live in Madrid. I really enjoyed going to different companies and seeing how the cultures differed between companies as well as talking to professionals about their jobs. I think you have more responsibility than the Auxiliares programs because you are the teacher so you build communication, time management, and planning skills. I've also maintained contact with former students and colleagues. Overall I found everyone friendly and I signed up for what I expected.

Cons

The pay wasn't that great and the highest monthly pay was 700 euros when I was there (auxiliares pays more), however I did received 3 bonus pays throughout the year for overtime. Lots of travel is involved along with gaps between classes, which is good for doing sports, planning lessons, and obtaining daytime private lessons but makes it hard to join social activities/clubs in the evening.

I am responding on behalf of the management team. We always value feedback both positive and constructive. During the recruitment process the team were very transparent about the fact that this was an internship program rather than a professional position with a salary. Therefore one would need finances to support oneself during the year, the figure you mention was the maximum monthly stipend you received and additional payments were for all other hours worked each month rather than bonuses. The course was also advertised as a full time commitment with classes all over the city which would mean a good deal of travel. We really appreciate your feedback thank you.

Pros

The people who worked at the company were really dynamic and quite easy to work with. My coordinator was really helpful and tried as best as she could to find me classes that fit my interests and background. They were also willing to get you the material you needed for your classes. They also set up a few events every year to help bring the people in the program together like tours and wine tastings.

Cons

My main cons is really cons of teaching business English in Madrid, there is a lot of travel time on a daily basis. Also because I did the internship program when it was still in its early years, the pay wasn't the greatest. But I do know that since then they have really improved the program and how much they pay.

I am responding as a member of the Management Team. We are glad to read that you enjoyed your experience with us. As you say there is a fair amount of commuting but in the Spanish teaching job market where most classes are F2F that goes with the territory. Our Coordination department does its upmost to assign classes in the same location but it´s not always possible. Thank you very much for your feedback.
