Former Intern - Software Engineer in Camarillo, CA

I worked at Transonic Combustion for less than a year

    Pros

You work in a friendly environment and you are encouraged to exercise at lunch. This helps you to remain healthy.

    Cons

Due to the constant change in management priorities, it was difficult to know how to approach problems in the company's designs.

    Advice to Management

Be more open to feedback and change. Acknowledge that some approaches are superior to the first ones you think about.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Transonic Combustion full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pay is good. Small enough to get things comunicated without too much hassle. Most employees are good people.

    Cons

Management constantly changing directions and priorities change faster than than their injectors blow up. When it all doent work out, they blame everyone below them.

    Advice to Management

Stop blaming everyone for your own bad decisions. It's R&D, things happen!

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Transonic Combustion full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

New technology Small company. Friendly staff Good pay Open communication

    Cons

Condescending management At times mean spirited Narrow minded...outdated management style Watch out.

    Advice to Management

Get a new CEO. Someone who is better at finding business opportunities and whose gone through sensitivity training. 1950s management style doesn't work for small tech company in California.

    Recommends

I worked at Transonic Combustion for less than a year

    Pros

The management is friendly and courteous, they like to work together, and they try their best to maintain a safe environment. They also encourage exercise during lunch hours. They also appear to have a successful future.

    Cons

There are occasional arguments among employees that can be difficult to resolve. There was no onsite sports equipment when I was there.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps they could try to reuse more of their existing ideas and work.
