Pros

Pay is good, though it should be to try and retain talent.

Cons

Hostile environment where there is no transparency or collaboration, internal teams all play the blame game, weak conflict-adverse managers let the politics affect staff morale and engagement as they provide no support. Everyone has an opinion, many hours are wasted debating over the smallest of issues where the collective salaries of everyone involved would far exceed the actual cost of the issue being debated. No appetite for innovation or fresh ideas, as there are individuals in middle management who perceive these as threats to their little empire. Never hear from the CEO, c-suite or even middle management, not even a simple hello as they walk through the office and this non-communication flows all the way down to the frontline where no one talks to eachother and no one really has a clear idea of what their role is or how they contribute to the overall business. There are no processes in place for anything, everyone does their own thing without proper consultation resulting in mismanaged, overtime and overbudgeted projects to justify staff time. A "run it to the ground until it breaks" attitude, very little investment is actually put back into maintaining the roads, despite being able to hike up tolls every quarter, then blaming third party maintainence contractors for subsequent failures. Culture is the worst I have seen, dictated by a few egotistical middle managers who run the old boys club. All new starters who arent managers dont even get allocated a desk to sit at on their first day and some leavers dont even get a thank you or a goodbye from their line manager. The entire business model would not survive in a real industry.

Pros

TU is forward thinking and likes to be onto the next biggest thing the fastest. It's a collaborative environment and there are some great people to work with. I've noticed that they feed you so you don't have to ever leave.... segue cons

Cons

Hours are extremely long. Some people have literally SLEPT at the office. If you aren't working 70+ hours per week, you aren't working. If you aren't in this group of workaholics, you won't be valued and it will show over time.
